Gryning vid Vättern
Påväg hem från Sjöbo. Vi valde att åka på natten istället för att åka på morgonen för att komma hem ordentligt tidigt på söndagen. Men vi stannar till i East Ride för lite sömn och frukost med svärföräldrarna.

Tre rätters hos Svärisarna
Ikväll blev det tre rätters middag hemma hos Svärföräldrarna, för att fira att det var fredagskväll, helg och bara för att det är trevligt att äta middag tillsammans ibland. Det var länge sen sist, många anledningar som gjort att vi helt enkelt inte kunnat äta tillsammans alla fyra.
Till förrätt blev det Fisksoppa med aioli och vitlöksbröd. Oh så gott!
Till huvudrätt hade vi gjort en helstekt oxfilé i ugn och den blev så vackert rosa innuti…
Till den möra och rosa oxfilén blev det ugnsrostade rosmarinsdoftande rotfrukter bl.a. morötter, palsternacka, sötpotatis och vanlig potatis. Som serverades med en kall crème fraîche sås med smak av medelhavskryddor.
Det blev supergott, och köttet så där mört som bara en riktigt fin köttbit kan bli och grönsakerna knapriga men samtidigt mjuka och söta. Riktigt gott. Tror nog att det kommer bli en favorit i sommar!
Till efterrätt blev det en chokladbrownie med vaniljglass och varm hallonkompott. Mums!
Enkelt och så gott och en riktigt trevlig middag med många skratt och trevliga diskussioner. Tack snälla för fin mat och ert sällskap!
//A three course dinner with the inlaws tonight, it’s been a while and it was just nice to have some time together, all four of us, and talk and enjoy ourselves over a good meal. We started with a beautifully creamy Saffron fish soup with aioli and garlic bread. Main course was a perfectly medium rare filet of beef served with roasted vegetables, carrots, jams, parsnip and potatoes. And for desert a chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream and a warm raspberry compote. Yum! //

Räkor i curry
En god middag blev det idag hos Svärföräldrarna – tydligen en 70-tals klassiker men gott för det 🙂
En currysås med purjolök, äpple och räkor som serverades till ris. Gott och enkelt!

Saturday
We woke up early eventhough we came “home” to My In-laws late. Adde was going skeet shooting so we got up together and made him breakfast. Andy’s Mom was up already, so we had some tea together before Andy left. It was slightly chilly… -21 C.
But it sure was a beautiful morning…
Andy sent a beautiful picture from the road, beautiful BUT cold as hell…
Andy’s parents and I had breakfast and talked about anything and everything. I spent the morning taking pictures of the beautiful White landscape and spending time with My In-laws…
When Andy came home, he was slightly cold from quite a few hours in the – 21 C degree day… Andy’s mom had made Kroppkakor, Andy’s favorite food. A kind of Swedish potato-dumpling with bacon, onion and All spice-mixture. Served with lingon berry jam, melted butter and blackpepper. So yummy!
And because of the cold we had a roaring fire going.
And a chocolate pannacotta for desert. Yummy x2.
We showed Andy’s parents pictures from our trip to Egypt this Christmas with layover Istanbul. Lots of beautiful things to show and talk about. And since Andy’s parents were in Egypt for our wedding 2008, we wanted to tell them about my family in Egypt and so on.
Then we packed up or stuff, said goodbye to Andy’s parents and went back home. We stopped at the store and went home to watch a movie, The Illusionist and have a night.

A long but fun day today. A day in Linköping with shopping at among others Ikea, breakfast with Addes Mom, coffee at McDonalds, photo-shoot in the Winter Wonderland, cozying with my babe, meeting Hansson for dinner and laughs and then the longed-for movie The Hobbit. A really good day with lots of feel-good!

Dinner with the family
We visited my In-laws yesterday to spend some time together since we didn’t spend Christmas together. Dr. SpiderPig and his family were also there so there was a real family gathering.
We had dinner that was really yummy, a chicken and mushroom stew.
And then we had a mini Christmas gift giving… And receiving 🙂
A nice evening with the family!

Saturday
The day started with baking Saffron Buns at the in-laws house and then a long breakfast, wish a second sitting of newly baked Saffron buns. Yum. Then Andy and I went into town for a trip to the jewelers, to see what kind of jewelry I’ll be making for my birthday present from my in-laws. Fun and really interesting. And I really think I’ve figured out what I might be wanting and how it’s going to look =) It’s going to be so much fun!
And after a few hours of shopping we got back home and had a really nice relaxing evening with the in-laws. A Saturday evening with the in-laws with great food, drinks, and company.
Steak, cheese platter, Gin&Tonic, Kom Loy, fire…

At the in-laws house and Andy has baked Saffron buns today. Yum!
We’ve been to town to check out the jewelers for my birthday present (from my in-laws) and also on a hunt for a snowblower.
But now dinner and relaxing. Nice winter day!
